As Vice President of GDSC ULM, orchestrating the 2nd Annual Hawkathon with ACM Student Chapter was both challenging and immensely rewarding. Our theme "Tech for Community: Build with AI" brought together 60+ students to solve real-world problems through technology.
Event Highlights
1. The Scale
- • 60+ participants
- • 15 projects submitted
- • 10+ industry mentors
- • 3 days of non-stop innovation
2. My Role
- • Master of Ceremonies (Day 1)
- • Logistics coordination
- • Judging criteria development
- • Sponsor relations
3. Impact
- • Industry Level Projects
- • Strengthened industry-academia ties
The energy during the final presentations was electric, especially when teams demonstrated their AI-powered solutions
for blood donation platforms, food distribution systems, and municipal citizen engagement tools.
Key Learnings
Organizing this hackathon pushed my leadership abilities to new levels:
- Crisis Management: Handling last-minute venue changes and tech issues
- Public Speaking: MC'ing for 100+ attendees boosted my confidence
- Team Leadership: Coordinating between 25 organizing committee members
- AI Curation: Ensuring projects maintained ethical AI standards

Seeing those impactful ideas and projects that can truly impact the society.
